Lets talk OILS 🌿🍇 Can you put oil on dreads and if so, which oil? We often see this question on the dreadlock forums. ✅ Yes! Since hair strands are rubbing against each other throughout the knotting process and since you don't expel the loose hair you otherwise would, dreadlocks by their very nature, are prone to being dry and prickly. 🍃So which oil? We've done a tonne of research on this! Coconut, Olive and Hemp oils are often recommend but we have just found these to be too heavy and whilst ok for some hair types, they often leave dreads greasy and are difficult to remove. Grapeseed Oil came out the clear winner in our research - it is one of the lightest oils yet super hydrating, it is readily absorbed by the hair and skin and is nutrient rich, packed full of Vitamin E and essential fatty acids. 🍇As a result, Grapeseed Oil features in our Botanical Serum and Quench range. Botanical Serum is next level and developed with itchy scalps and dandruff in mind. Jojoba and Neem along with various essential oils make this a very effective hydrating and scalp soothing remedy. 🤷♀️So how do you use it? Apply sparingly to dry hair, use only as needed by gently massaging or palm rolling into dreads paying particular attention to the dry areas. Let your scalp & hair guide you.
