10 x Mermaid Synthetic Dreadlock Extensions

These gorgeous Mermaid Locs are made with high quality Henlon synthetic hair. Unlike most types of synthetic hair on the market, the wavy tails are far easier to maintain and will tangle much less. They have a single ended loop for braiding in, they can also be attached to clips for fast temporary installation or alternatively, they can be used to permanently lengthen existing dreadlocks.

INCLUSIONS: 10 individual single ended synthetic extensions are included in this pack.

SIZE: Approximately 60cm / 23" long & 7mm thick. The first 20cm/7.8" is dreaded with the remaining length, undreaded wavy mermaid tails.

COLOURS: If you select Blend, please leave a comment in the shopping cart with the colours you want and how many of each colour.

CARE: Due to the excellent quality and crochet technique used to create these dreads, very little maintenance will be required. The ends can be combed through as needed to keep them knot free. Our Dread Empire Balm can also be used to help keep them smooth and minimise static.

HOW MANY DREADLOCKS DO I NEED FOR A FULL HEAD? On average, a full head will require about 50 dreadlocks. If you prefer lots of volume, you may wish to consider as many as 60-70 dreadlocks.

INSTALLATION ~ UNDREADED HAIR: We recommend shampooing your hair before installation but do not use conditioner as this can make it difficult to achieve a tight plait. If your hair is particularly soft and silky and difficult to braid tightly, applying a small amount of Dread Dust to your finger tips will texturise the hair making gripping the hair for a nice tight plait much easier.

Pull a section of your own hair through the loop at the top of the extension. Now you need to split the bundle of your own hair in two and using the extension as the third piece, braid / plait the three pieces together. Either a regular three strand braid or a blanket stitch braid can be used.

Our Nylon Dreadlock Extensions Thread is a great way to secure your dreadlock extension because it is discreet, very strong and long lasting and allows you to bind the ends of your own hair to the dread so it offers a neater finish. As you near the end of the braid, wrap the thread around the end of the braid capturing the ends of your hair and tie off in a knot. Pro Elastics are another option to secure the braids in place.

INSTALLATION ~ CLIPS: Attaching the extension to our extension clips will allow for quick and easy temporary install and removal of the dreadlocks.

INSTALLATION ~ LENGTHEN EXISTING DREADS: Extensions can be permanently crocheted to the bottom of your existing dreads for instant length. Alternatively, the loop at the top of the extension can be temporarily looped into the base of existing dreads for instant volume and length.
